These birds only stayed for one day
they are smaller than the sparrow and not much bigger than a wren you can tell how small they are from the main photo before cutting, the interesting bit is they like the seeds of the papyrus plant and the yellow bird I only realized was in the frame while cutting on the computer, this bird is not in my bird book, notice the unmistakable red strike to the eye, first I thought it was the Female Nile valley sun bird, I was also lucky to get the shots. they were about 45ft away and I happened to have the 75-300 zoom lens on because 5 minutes earlier I tried to get a photo of a butterfly that would not keep still long enough to get a good shot of with my normal 17-85 lens. I managed to get 5/6 frames in quick succesion then they flew off into the reed bed . Thinking they would come back I hid in the reeds and waited about an hour but no such luck. on my return I asked the local farmer if he had seen these birds , never was his answer where did I see them. so if it was not for the photos It could have been true what the guy said ,I dreamed about them,
